Staff Professional Development Days and School Closure Day 2018

All schools in South Australia are granted two pupil-free day in order to provide staff  with opportunities for whole of school professional development. During the Australian Curriculum implementation period, the Australian Government has granted schools an additional two Professional Development Days each year to assist with its implementation.
Governing Councils may recommend to the Educational Director the closure of a school for a maximum of one day per year for events of local significance.

All Staff  Professional Development Days at Blackwood Primary School  are based on the focus areas of our Site Improvement Plan (SIP).

2018 Staff Professional Development Days and closure days, ratified by the Governing Council and the Education Director are as follows:

Term 1
Friday 23 March 2018 - Student Free Day

Term 2
Tuesday 12 June 2018 - Student Free Day

Term 3
Friday 31 August 2018 - Student Free Day

Monday 3 September 2018 - School Closure Day (Show Day)

Term 4
Monday 15 October 2018 (first day of term 4) - Student Free Day
