Class meetings
Student Action Team
SRC Executive
Four Year 7s are selected to be SRC Executive members. Their role includes:
House Captains
Two Year 6/7 House Captains and 1 Year 5 Vice House Captain are selected to represent each of our four house teams. Their role includes:
Student Interest Groups
These groups are formed on a needs basis. Examples may include an Environment Group, Safety Ambassadors, etc.
- Builds relationships between students and their school community.
- Allows students to give input into improving their class and school.
- Improves students’ skills in listening to others, respecting others’ opinions/views/thoughts, communicating own points of view and problem-solving.
- Builds students’ awareness of how decisions are made and how they impact other people.
- Develops students’ leadership skills.
Class meetings
- Classes hold regular class meetings when needed, aiming to have at least 4 per term.
- Classes run meetings as is suitable to their year level(s).
- Agendas for class meetings include a section when Student Action Team members are able to report back from their SAT meetings.
Student Action Team
- Classes have 2 Student Action Team Representatives.
- Student Action Team reps attend weekly Student Action Team meetings. This is when decisions are made and issues that involve the school are discussed and solved. Any issues that require staff feedback/decision-making are taken to staff meetings.
- SAT reps report back to their classes during class meetings.
SRC Executive
Four Year 7s are selected to be SRC Executive members. Their role includes:
- Attending leadership training.
- Attending, setting up and running Student Action Team meetings.
- Attending and reporting back from Mitcham Hills Cluster Executive meetings.
- Attending occasional Tuesday morning staff meetings when appropriate/required.
House Captains
Two Year 6/7 House Captains and 1 Year 5 Vice House Captain are selected to represent each of our four house teams. Their role includes:
- Helping prepare and run House events such as Athletics Day and Blue Earth Sports Day.
- Running House events during Lunchtimes (such as soccer tournaments or chess tournaments).

These groups are formed on a needs basis. Examples may include an Environment Group, Safety Ambassadors, etc.
