OSHC
The Blackwood OSHC staff would like to welcome all families & children to our service, which operates from a purpose built facility, adjacent to the school hall.
The service is committed to providing a safe nurturing environment; where primary school aged children have rich learning opportunities to learn through play, develop life skills and friendships and have fun!
The service aims to:
- Provide quality childcare that meets the needs of individual children and families
- Develop a sense of belonging by creating an environment where children feel valued and foster relationships
- Provide a smooth transition between home, school and other environments significant to families needs, by working in partnership with families/caregivers
- Provide stimulating activities that extend the children’s interests, their capacity to make new discoveries and ability to share skills and knowledge with each other
- Respect each child as a unique individual
- Build collaborative partnerships with families as the service acknowledges that children and parents/caregivers provide a rich array of values and diverse backgrounds
- Develop life skills and a sense of citizenship
Blackwood Primary School Governing Council is responsible as the approved provider for operating the OSHC service to meet the standards of the National Quality Framework.
Families have the opportunity to be actively involved in planning and decision making about the service and can join the OSHC committee, which meets twice per term and is responsible for making recommendations to Governing Council.
