Blackwood Primary School students share gifts with new refugee arrivals at Salisbury North Primary School
Staff Professional Development Days and School Closure Day 2024
All schools in South Australia are granted two pupil-free day in order to provide staff with opportunities for whole of school professional development. During the Australian Curriculum implementation period, the Australian Government has granted schools an additional two Professional Development Days each year to assist with its implementation.
Governing Councils may recommend to the Educational Director the closure of a school for a maximum of one day per year for events of local significance.
All Staff Professional Development Days at Blackwood Primary School are based on the focus areas of our Site Improvement Plan (SIP).
2024 Staff Professional Development Days and closure days, ratified by the Governing Council and the Education Director are as follows:
Term 2: Monday 29th April - Student Free Day (first day of term 2)
Term 3: Monday 22nd July - Student Free Day (first day of term 3)
Term 3: Friday 6th September - School Closure Day
Term 4: Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th October - Student Free Days
(first 2 days of Term 4)
